Highbury Primary School is a very good school with a rich and vibrant school life, where children feel safe and happy. We want an energetic, enthusiastic, committed and friendly person to join our team to support a child on a temporary contract.
The role will focus on building a secure trusting relationship with the child as a basis for support. We are looking for someone who will work in partnership with other teaching staff to enable the child to successfully engage with learning, to secure strategies and to support their emotions. You will have a flexible, “can do” attitude and it will be obvious you take pride in your work. The successful candidate will need to work well within a team but also able to use their own initiative. You will have previous nursery nurse training and experience of 1:1 support within a primary school or similar setting. Previous experience with working with pupils with autism, social, emotional and behaviour difficulties is desirable.
With a good knowledge and understanding of how to support learning for children and building effective relationships with children, staff and parents, you will assist with reading, writing and number tasks, and other activities to support learning outcomes. With good interpersonal and communication skills, you will be organised, flexible and have the presence to inspire confidence and trust so as to develop and nurture independence.
In return, you will find a rewarding role and be part of the University of Chichester Multi-Academy Trust offering added benefits and opportunities. Each of our academies has a unique identity, but a shared belief in creating a positive and enriching environment, where all staff feel valued.
In view of the Easter holidays, please download the role profile and application form from the website and send it by e-mail to email@example.com
Successful candidates who have been shortlisted for interview will be contacted on the afternoon of Friday 26th April.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
