Staff, Parents and Pupils are celebrating at Frogmore Junior School in Camberley following a recent glowing Ofsted report. The school was the first academy sponsored by the University of Chichester Academy Trust. It was inspected at the beginning of October and received a ‘good’ judgement overall with many comments that demonstrated outstanding practice.

Chief Executive Officer of The University of Chichester Academy Trust, Sue Samson, said, “It is a very impressive report and demonstrates clearly the passion and commitment of the headteacher and staff and the high quality education that the pupils now receive in this school.”

This is the sixth inspection of schools managed by the University of Chichester Academy Trust. All inspections have demonstrated improvements in the schools and there are many examples of exceptional practice. Frogmore secured an ‘outstanding’ judgement for pupil behaviour the second outstanding judgement awarded to Trust schools.

Frogmore Junior School’s inspection follows on from the glowing Ofsted Review achieved by the Trust as a whole last July. The Trust sponsor 13 academies in West Sussex, Portsmouth and Hampshire and was recognised by Ofsted for improving the quality of education in Trust academies rapidly.

The review recognised the strong commitment of the University to its academies and the benefits that sponsorship by the University brings to its schools. It also celebrated the high quality of leadership both in the central Trust team and in the academies who all have expert chairs of governors and high quality headteachers who play an important role in the development of the Trust and support each other. The inspectors were clear that the ‘quality of education in the trust’s schools is improving rapidly as a result of the high quality partnership working’. Professor Jane Longmore, University of Chichester Vice-Chancellor and Chair of the Academy Trust Board, said: “The University has a long and distinguished heritage of teacher-training going back more than 160 years. Education and knowledge can inspire: central to our vision as an academy sponsor is our belief that supportive learning communities of staff, parents and pupils are essential to success and attainment.”
