Highbury Primary School & Nursery is at the heart of a thriving and diverse local community, which is proud to be part of the University of Chichester Academy Trust. We want children from Highbury Primary School and Nursery to leave us with high aspirations and with the confidence and enthusiasm for learning.  We want an energetic, enthusiastic, committed and friendly person to join our team working Monday – Friday, term time only.

The nursery was Ofsted inspected in May 2024 and it was found that children flourish in this warm and welcoming setting. Staff know the children well and develop secure and nurturing relationships with them. Our staff give the children reassurance when needed to help them to settle.

Candidates must demonstrate a flexible, “can do” and pro-active attitude and must take a pride in your work.  The successful candidate will need to be a team player but also able to use their own initiative. You will have previous experience within a nursery school or similar setting and have a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years.

Previous experience in establishing positive relationships with children that encourages and enables child development is essential as is experience of implementing strategies that promote positive behaviour.

Under the direction of the Nursery Manager the successful candidate will assist in providing a high standard of childcare for children aged between 6 months and 5 years within a stimulating, friendly and positive environment that is physically and emotionally secure.  Children’s welfare must be of paramount importance together with the commitment to deliver the highest quality education and care.

In return, you will find a rewarding role and be part of the University of Chichester Multi-Academy Trust offering added benefits and opportunities. Each of our academies has a unique identity, but a shared belief in creating a positive and enriching environment, where all staff feel valued.
